GPLonHappyFM: Aduana Stars still on course to win league title - W.O Tandoh

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aduana Stars, Takyi Arhin has attributed his side’s inability to secure the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League ( GPL) this season to overconfidence.

The two-time Premier League champions were top of the League table before dropping points to Dreams FC at Dormaa in their matchday 32 fixture.

The defeat dented Aduana Stars’ league title ambitions leading them to trail four points behind League leaders Medeama SC.

Speaking in an interview on Happy FM, Mr. Arhin said, “ Aduana’s ultimate this season was to win the GPL. Unfortunately, we couldn’t achieve it and I believe it was because complacency set in. The players were overconfident and it cost us. We had it tough this season but I can assure the Premier League teams next season that we would be a much tougher side to reckon with. Anything can happen in football, it is not over until it is over”.

Aduana currently sits 3rd on the league log with 52 points after recording a second consecutive loss against Nsoatreman FC last Sunday.

They will lock horns with Bechem United on June 11, 2023, in their last game of the season.
