Clement Baffour, owner of the jewelry shop attacked by armed robbers on Saturday November 2, 2024 has disclosed that about 6.2 million Ghana Cedis was stolen during the robbery.
According to him, the victim is a customer. On the day of the robbery, he said the customer had visited the shop to pick up payment for a transaction but was robbed immediately after loading the monies into his car.
In an interview with Kwadwo Sefah-Danquah on Happy FM’s Morning Show, Mr. Baffour stated that, even though he was not present at the shop, he received a call from one of his shop attendants that armed robbers had attacked one of his customers and made away with some money.
“When I arrived at the shop, i was told that immediately after my workers made payment to him, the armed robbers blocked my customer’s car, burst the tire of his car with gunshots and took away the money from the car’s booth.”
“This is not the first time. They came to my shop three months ago and made away with about 1 million dollars. After the first incident happened, I informed the police to which they decided to give me protection so we were still on the process and suddenly another one has happened”.
“We are almost done with the process, I will go there today to finalize everything in order for them to give me maximum protection as part of security measures to secure my business”, he added.
