ACP Victor Tandoh cautions drivers this harmattan

Former Commander of the Motor Transport and Traffic Unit of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Victor Tandoh (RTD) has appealed to drivers and road users to be extra vigilante this harmattan.

Speaking on issues of road safety on Happy 98.9 FM’s super charged Happy Morning Show, he made known that the mist that accompanies the harmattan season poses a lot of dangers to road users if they are not careful.

According to him, the mist reduces visibility for drivers and pedestrians also as they cannot see clearly.

The road safety advocate advised drivers to fix their headlights if they are faulty and also fix their wipers as the mist can dampen their windscreens, reducing visibility.

“Fix your headlights if they are faulty. Don’t use your car if you have only one functional headlight as it might look like a motorcycle.”

He also cautioned pedestrians to be extra careful when crossing roads to prevent any accidents.
