Accra Brewery Limited (ABL) producers of Club, has recently unveiled its fifth smart drinking initiative, the “Big and Bold Smart Drinking Campaign 2023,” with a primary focus on raising awareness about road safety.
The campaign’s kickoff involved a collaborative training session with the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) at the popular Circle Neoplan Station, where crucial road safety tips were imparted to numerous commercial drivers.
During the training session, truck drivers, delivery drivers, commercial bus drivers, and other employee drivers were actively encouraged to prioritize safety on the roads. The emphasized message was to refrain from driving when fatigued and to remain alert while operating vehicles.
Solomon Eyiah, Country Lead for Legal and Corporate Affairs at Accra Brewery PLC, expressed the company’s commitment to promoting responsible drinking, especially during the festive season. Eyiah highlighted ABL’s status as a market leader in the production of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, citing its flagship program as the country’s leading club.
Eyiah stated, “We have a responsibility to the communities we live and work in, and it is to ensure, especially during this festive season, we educate drivers on responsible drinking.” He further explained that ABL has partnered with the road safety authority to guide drivers through the principles of responsible driving and drinking.
Highlighting the ongoing nature of ABL’s commitment, Eyiah revealed, “We don’t only do this solely during festive seasons. It is interesting and worth knowing that we have a quarterly campaign where we take drivers, customers, and our staff through such education and awareness on responsible drinking.”
ABL’s “Big and Bold Smart Drinking Campaign” intends to significantly contribute to road safety and responsible driving practises as the holiday season approaches and roads are likely to get busier. This campaign highlights the company’s commitment to the communities it serves.
