The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa has called on Ghana’s anti-corruption institutions and diplomatic missions abroad to thoroughly investigate recent corruption reports from various international sources, including allegations in Dubai and significant cash seizures at a London airport.

In a Facebook post on June 26, 2024, Mr. Ablakwa underscored the importance of addressing these reports to safeguard Ghana’s international reputation and protect the interests of politically exposed persons.

He warned that failure to investigate these serious allegations of grand graft could result in increased suspicion and harassment of Ghanaian politically exposed persons at international airports, potentially relegating them to pariah status.

“Ghanaian politically exposed persons across the divide risk increased suspicion, harassment at airports and may regrettably assume pariah status if these grave allegations of grand graft are not properly dealt with”, he wrote.

He emphasized that it is in the supreme interest of the nation to address these issues head-on, thereby preserving the integrity and honor of Ghana and its representatives abroad.
