Abetifi violent clash: Suspects denied bail

The 28 people who were remanded by the Mpraeso District Court for the alleged kidnap of Abetifi and Kwahu Adontihene Akyeamfour Asiedu Agyeman III have been denied bail.

The accused persons were remanded by the court on November 8, 2024 when they appeared before the judge for the first time.

During the court proceedings today, November 14, 2024, the defense lawyer Nkrabea Effah Dartey’s efforts to secure bail was denied by the court.

Her Lordship Adwoa Akyemaa Ofosu who presided over the case remanded the accused persons again into the police custody and adjourned the case to November 27, 2024.

Lawyer Effah Dartey expressed his disapproval of the court’s decision.

Nana Saka Darko, Spokesperson for the Abetifi Palace applauded the court for remanding the accused persons while investigations continue.
