Abandon Alan Kyeremanten - NPP urges faithfuls

The New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called on party followers of Alan Kyerematen to keep on backing the party and the candidate who will lead the party into the 2024 polls.

The General Secretary of the party, Justin Frimpong Kodua argued that the exit of Alan Kyerematen from the party means he has lost the support of the party and all its supporters.

Just like some notable members of the party who had openly declared their support for Alan Kyerematen have withdrawn that support after his (Alan) exit, “then all party faithfuls who supported him should come back to the party as Alan Kyerematen embarks on a personnel campaign, outside of the party.

“We urge all party faithfuls to be resolute, dedicated and committed to the party. Together we shall beat them. Together we shall succeed because we are the NPP,” he said in address to the press at the party’s headquarters.

Justin Kodua championed unprecedented participation in the ongoing voter registration exercise, arguing it is through unity and unparalleled participation that the party will break the 8.

Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, former Trade Minister and once prominent figure within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) officially resigned from the party, declaring his intention to run as an independent candidate in the 2024 General Elections.

His decision to break away from the NPP comes as a surprise to many, given his history within the party. This marks the second time Mr. Kyerematen has left the NPP.

In 2008, he resigned from the party after feeling bitter about losing in the 2007 presidential primary. According to Alan Kyerematen, his resignation from the party this time around is based on unfair treatment and the flagbearer selection process of the party being skewed to favor one candidate.
