The Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) has cautioned that the continued erection of billboards in unsafe locations could lead to more collapses, causing property damage and accidents, if immediate action is not taken as the rainy season nears.
AAG President, Andrews Ackah has expressed frustration over the inaction, noting that discussions on the issue only gain attention when billboards fall during heavy rains, only to be ignored afterward.
He cited that despite repeated warnings and engagements with authorities, little has been done to regulate billboard placements, with many still being installed in hazardous areas such as pedestrian walkways and intersections.
With more rainfall expected, the association is calling for stricter regulations and proactive enforcement to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety.
