The Electoral Commission says it will make up for the time lost at some registration centres where there were reports of delay on Sunday, July 12, 2020.
The third phase of the on ongoing mass registration exercise which began today was met with some activation and network challenges.
The commission in a statement signed by the Acting Director of Public Affairs, Mrs Sylvia Annoh, said, “Details of the extension for the affected Registration Centres will be communicated in due course.”
However, the Commission appealed to Ghanaians to follow and observe all the safety protocols spelt out at the various Registration Centres and also urges all stakeholders to cooperate with it to make the ongoing Registration Exercise a success.

ELECTORAL COMMISSION TO EXTEND PERIOD OF REGISTRATION AT DELAYED CENTRES
The Electoral Commission wishes to assure the general public that it will make up for the time lost at some Registration Centres where registration delayed on Sunday, 12th July, 2020 due to activation/ network problems.
Some Registration Centres in the country experienced technical problems as result of bad network and therefore could not start on the stipulated time of 7.00 am spelt out by the Commission for the commencement of the Exercise. Details of the extension for the affected Registration Centres will be communicated in due course.
The 3rd Phase of the Registration Exercise began on Sunday, July 12 and will end on July 17, 2020. All eligible applicants scheduled to register during the 3rd Phase may make themselves available at their respective Registration Centres to go through the process to be registered as Voters.
Once again, the Commission wishes to appeal to Ghanaians to follow and observe all the safety protocols spelt out at the various Registration Centres.
The Commission urges all stakeholders to cooperate with it to make the ongoing Registration Exercise a success.
