Joseph Yaw Adu begins work as acting C.E.O of Asante Kotoko

Joseph Yaw Adu has began work as acting Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko.

The new member of the Board of Directors of the club is in charge of the club’s operation as a search for a substantive C.E.O continues.

The new Board appointed him as Acting Chief Executive Officer in a five-member Interim Management Committee that includes other Board Members; Mr. Kofi Abban, Evelyn Nsiah Asare, Martin Brobbey and Lawyer Kwamina Mensah.

He is expected to continue the negotiations between Asante Kotoko and Medeama over the possible signing of midfielder Justice Blay.

Mr. Adu is a former sports director at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Last month, failed Ghana Football Association presidential aspirant Nana Yaw Amponsah was said to be the frontrunner for the job.

However, a spokesman from Manhyia scuttled that dream when he revealed on a Kumasi-based radio station that the president of Phar Rangers was rejected ‘because he could not keep a secret’.

Former Ghana FA vice president and Executive Committee member George Afriyie was also said to be in the race but he issued a statement to distance himself from the position.
