Chief Executive Officer of Charterhouse has said that while the organization is looking to hold the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards later this year, it has not decided whether dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale will be included or not. However, “everything is possible”, she said.

In a virtual discussion on the Impact of COVID-19 on the Tourism and Hospitality industry organized by Global Media Alliance, Mrs. Theresa Ayoade in response to the question of whether the two dancehall artistes will be involved in the 2020 VGMAs event, said: “Everything is possible. We have actually been on a mental break from all these. That has been put on the back for now”.

It can be recalled that dancehall artistes Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were stripped off their awards and subsequently banned indefinitely from the award scheme after their near-bloody scuffle during the 2019 edition of the VGMA.

At the time, Theresa Ayoade, CEO of Charterhouse, explained that “indefinite ban means pending good behaviour” and it is possible for them to be accepted back to the scheme depending on their behaviour in future.

It is reported that the 2020 VGMA Awards will take place in August this year. This decision, according to the CEO of Charter House comes after President Akufo Addo eased some of the restrictions put in place to prevent the spread of coronavirus
