Speaking to a leader of the demonstration and friend of the deceased, Kingsford Namebor on Happy98.9FM’s Epa Hoa Daben, he said, “We want to express our grievances to the government. Murder is becoming too much in Sogakope. Over 10 murders recorded just this year only in South Tongu. This issue is a security one and we need them to resolve it. The question now is, who is going to be next if nothing is done about the rampant killings?”
According to him, the police in South Tongu are not performing their duties and the reason is still unknown to residents. “The police is not doing their work. The murders are security threats affecting us. The police and the DCE should tell us what they discuss at District Security Council (DISEC) meetings. Were they just taking allowances and spending them without doing their jobs? We need the DCE to address the youth. The leadership in the district is very poor.”

It is sad that the murders have gotten to this point. Marcus was a good guy. “He did well to everyone irrespective of who you are. My brother has been murdered at his own residence. We need answers and solutions soon,” he said.
An assembly member, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli, who doubled as a mobile money vendor, was found dead after sporadic gunshots were heard at his residence on Sunday, March 1, 2020. The attack also left a bullet lodged in the head of his child and had other people in his household injured.
