CONFIRMED: Isaac Asiamah Named Sports Minister

MP for Atwima Mponua constituency in the Ashanti Region, Isaac Asiamah has been named Ghana’s Youth and Sports minister by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Hon. Asiamah’s name popped up in the second batch of the president’s ministerial appointments.
Mr Asiamah is currently a member of the Parliamentary select Committee for Youth and Sports.
He hails from Tano Odumasi in the Ashanti Region and is married with three children.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Geography and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon and has also served on the Parliamentary Committees for Mines and Energy as well as the Public Accounts Committee in the past.
He polled 33,723 votes to retain the Atwima Mponua seat defeating Stephen Yeboah of the National Democratic Congress who had 22,450 votes in the 2016 general elections.
Asiamah has previously worked at the National Youth Secretariat.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will today, January 11 outdoor his second batch of nominees.
The list includes notable names like campaign spokesperson Mustapha Hamid, Hon. Joe Ghartey and Otiko Afisa Djaba

  2. Information: Mustapha Hamid
  3. Communication: Hon. Ursula Owusu
  4. Railways: Hon. Joe Ghartey
  5. Transport: Mr. Asiamah (CR)
  6. Science and Technology: Prof K. Frimpong Boateng
  7. Gender and Social Protection: Otiko Afisa Djaba
  8. Employment and Labour Relations: Mr Asamoah Boateng
  9. Youth and Sports: Hon. Isaac Asiamah
  10. Minister of State Special Projects: Hon. Dan Botwe
  11. Minister of State Monitoring and Evaluation: Dr Anthony Osei Akoto
  12. Water, Works and Resources: Hon Atta Kyea
  13. Chieftaincy: Kofi Djamasi
  14. Lands and Natural Resources: Peter Amewu
  15. Roads and Highways: Hon Addai Nimoh
  16. Aviation: Cecilia Dapaah

The president is expected to officially announce the names in a press conference at 3pm today.
