Afro-pop vocalist and songwriter, Ellen Ayensua Gyapong, popularly known as Efe Keyz has said that most celebrities who appear to be happy may be battling with depression within.
Speaking in an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity Show aired on e.TV, she disclosed: “Everyday, the possibility of anybody in the limelight getting depressed is high.”
She explained that most musicians get depressed as a result of either performing songs of their record label that they do not want or that they have been underground artistes for so long.
According to her, celebrities are afraid to open up about their depression because of societal pressure.
“We are afraid of what society will say when we come out to say we are depressed”, she added.
Efe Keyz, is known for her songs such as ‘Juju’, ‘Party Time’ and the recent ‘Video Call’ song.
