Black Stars captain, Andre Ayew has appealed to the authorities to release Awal Sulaiman, after he invaded the pitch during Black Stars AFCON qualifier against South Africa at Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Thursday 14 November, 2019.
Awal has been charged with unlawful entry according to reports when he appeared before court on Friday 15 November, 2019.

Some Ghanaians have started a campaign on social media pleading with authorities to release him and Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has also added his voice.
“I understand that the over zealous fan who invaded the pitch at Cape Coast is in the firm grip of the law and he is being processed for court. While condemning his unfortunate action,I want to plead with authorities to tamper justice with mercy”.
“To our dear fans, especially the truder, we know how passionate football is, but it is very important for everyone to always abide by safety rules at the stadium to make the place safe for everyone. I hope this will not happen again”, he concluded.
