The former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu-Juaben in the Ashanti Region and a leading member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh has heaped praises on Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, and also declared that he will live long because of his behavior.

According to him, the former President came to serve and not rule over Ghanaians and that is why he respects and adores him. “Amongst all the New Patriotic Party (NPP) leaders I have met, the former President, J.A Kufuor is the most respectful, sympathetic, selfless and loving one,” he said.

Yamoah Ponkoh revealed that he was once a member of the NPP, and described the former President as a different person from all the members of the NPP. “If all Presidents had the behavior of Former President J.A Kuffuor, Ghana would not be experiencing the suffering and crisis she is going through at the moment”, he added.

Ex-President J.A Kufuor served as President of the Republic of Ghana from 7 January 2001 to 7 January 2009. His victory over John Evans Atta Mills after the end of Jerry Rawlings’ second term marked the first peaceful democratic transition of power in Ghana since independence in 1957.
