Ghanaian striker Majeed Waris has suffered a fresh injury blow after limping off in Lorient’s 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 on Wednesday night.
The 25-year-old lasted just 42 minutes of the match before he was replaced by Jimmy Cabot after suffering an injury.
Waris has been in great form for Lorient after scoring four goals in as many games from late November into December.
The Ghanaian only returned to action this week after recovering from a pelvis injury and was handed a starting role by coach Bernard Casoni.
The news could see Waris miss out on Ghana’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad, with manager Avram Grant set to name his preliminary squad in the coming days.
