Ghana and Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Teye Partey was crowned the Footballer of the Year at the 2019 Ghana Football Awards. The 26-year-old won the accolade for the second time after winning the maiden edition last year.
He was also named the best foreign-based player of the year as Asante Kotoko forward Abdul Fatawu Safiu also grabbed the home-based best player award.
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan beat off competition from Black Stars no.1 Richard Ofori and Nana Bonsu of Enyimba FC in Nigeria to win the goalkeeping category.
Black Maidens captain Mukarama Abdulai won double as she picked the Women’s Footballer of the Year Award and the Future Star Award.
Asante Kotoko was named the team of the year whiles their coach, Charles Kwablah Akonnor won the beat coach of the year after guiding them to the group stages of the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.
