Award-winning music producer, Richie Mensah, has revealed on Happy FM’s ‘Ayekoo After Drive’ with DJ Advicer that ,the biggest problem with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA ) is that their workers are reluctant to work because they are not paid.
According to Richie, no one at MUSIGA is paid for what he or she does therefore if a Communication Director is asked to write a press statement he would do it in his own time.
He added to say that MUSIGA should give power to a third party organization to also do part of its work to release stress associated with the job.
“They may not be able to pay them but they could provide them with power and links that they could also benefit from indirectly,” he said.
Richie, in his quest to contest for the MUSIGA Vice President position, also added that he has noticed that one thing MUSIGA is lacking is unity in the music industry and voting him as Vice President will give him the opportunity to let people understand the importance of unity.
“I can let people understand that standing together can make them move forward,” he said .
