The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo says the country’s laws must keep pace with technology in order to expedite the course of justice.

Speaking at the launch of the E- Justice System in Accra, the President said the power of technology must be harnessed since that is the only way to build confidence of the citizens in justice delivery.

The system, which was launched on Wednesday, 20 March 2019 in Accra, will help solve the challenges associated with the manual system.

Reminding Lawyers on the mission and vision of the Judicial Service, President Akufo-Addo said fast tracking at the courts is paramount at every level of the delivery ladder.

He encouraged the judiciary to make Ghana’s justice system “one that we will all be proud of”.

The president admonished the administrators to ensure that the system works perfectly.

For her part, Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo said the new system will boost public confidence in the court system.

The platform (e-justice system) is an automated workflow from the point a client files a case to the point of execution.

This means the paperless court experience for clients comes with the digitisation of records and creation of e-dockets for easy access and reference by judges.
