Malkiya FC coach Ahmed Al-Dakhil has disclosed that Joseph Adjei’s winning mentality has rubbed off on his teammates at the club.
The Madinat ‘Isa Stadium outfit are enduring a difficult season in the Bahraini top flight league, having won just 3 of their 8 games to occupy 8th on the standings.
Despite the side’s underwhelming performance in the ongoing campaign, coach Al-Dakhil has singled out defender Joseph Adjei for praise claiming that the Ghanaian’s knack of not accepting defeat is having effect on the rest of his teammates.
“When he first came in I thought he’ll face difficulty in adapting to our system due to his inability to speak the language but he quickly exert himself to the group and he has not looked back since,” Al-Dakhil told Malkiya FC website.
“He tries to give his best in every training session and games, no matter who we play, no matter what opposition or competition, his preparation is always the same.”
“Whether it’s a training or league match, it’s always the same focus – he urges his teammates to play with passion, this is one secret I’m not supposed to say but I’ve been monitoring him since he arrived and he’s impressed me a lot.
“His standards are really high, he always tries to give his all to win and that winning mentality has rubbed off on the players.”
Adjei, 23, joined Malkiya FC with two games into the season but has established himself as an instrumental figure in the team, having exhibited his versatility after being deployed in several positions.
The former Wa All Stars guardsman is expected to continue his magnificent form for the side on Thursday when they engage Al-Hala Muharraq in the Bahraini Cup.
