The rate at which the number of scammers in Ghana is growing surprises many. Owing to the country’s most reliable internet speeds; fraudsters have continued to prosper.
Many have also attributed the scamming activities of the “Sakawa Boys” to the lack of jobs for Ghana’s youth.
Well, one US-Based Ghanaian Lady who identified herself as Emmanuella Ofori, has accused Dancehall singer, Shatta Wale born Charles Nii Armah Mensah of scam.
In the voice of Emmanuella, an amount of $45,000 has been extorted from her by the “Kakai” hitmaker. Recounting her ordeal in a trending video, the lady said she wanted to marry and wanted to make it grand.
For that matter, she reached out to Shatta Wale on Facebook so that he can grace the event and perform accordingly.
She added that Shatta Wale met her on Facebook and gave her his WhatsApp number so that they can further talk on the deals.
She noted that Shatta Wale asked her not to pay the money through his record label, Zylofon Media because they pay him peanuts. And that he also needs money to buy himself out of his contract with Zylofon, therefore, she should deal directly with him.
They then became friends and then one day Shatta Wale told her, he wanted to move his bank money from United Kingdom to USA so he need some money to aid the bank transfer.
From the girl’s account, she fell for the scam and transferred a huge sum of $45,000 to the artiste. Fast forward, “Shatta Wale” cut ties with her and blocked her on all social media platforms.
She ended the video by playing an audio conversation she had with Shatta Wale. Truth be told, the voice note doesn’t sound like the voice of Shatta Wale.
It appears the lady in question was scammed by the hungry boys behind one of those fake accounts on Facebook in the name of Charles Nii Armah Mensah thinking she was actually dealing with the real Shatta Wale.
This is because a check on Facebook reveals a lot of fake accounts in the name of Shatta Wale.
