Petty traders at Breman Brakwa in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District in the Central Region have threatened to vote out the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) if their poor road network is not fixed.
The aggrieved traders told an Accra based radio station that, the poor nature of the road in the area has affected their activities and depriving them of their livelihood.
According to them, they have gone in for loans but are not making any major profits because trading activities have been badly affected due to the poor nature of their road network.
Drivers they lamented have refused to ply the area because their vehicles are badly affected whenever they ply the area.
‘’Drivers are not coming to cart our goods because of the poor nature of our road network. Their vehicles are damaged anytime they make the attempt. This is having serious implications on our business and trading activities. We want to appeal to leaders responsible to come and fix our roads with immediate effect,’’ an angry trader said.
‘’We will eliminate this government and uproot them like how cassava is uprooted by cassava farmers. They should fix our poor road network or lose the 2020 polls,’’ another trader fumed.
