Ghanaian singer songwriter producer Gladstorm Kwabena Akwaboah Jnr has revealed that his pastor prophesied and encouraged him to venture into secular music.
According to him, there was actually a prophesy by his pastor that doing secular music is his calling.
Fellow singer Kurl Songx recently raised concerns about being criticized by the church for doing secular music.
Akwaboah in an interview on Hitz FM said that even though he had recorded both gospel and secular albums, he was left with a difficult choice to make with regards to the kind of music he should do.
However he stated that his pastor helped him with the decision
He said,”…the thing is that my pastor believes in everyone’s destiny; we all can’t be pastors; we all can’t be bankers. Initially, I wanted to do gospel songs so I did a gospel album but I also recorded a secular album so I was confused as to which side I should stand for.”
“…My pastor was prophesying, and he called me and told me that my calling was to do secular music,”the talented musician added.
Akwaboah Jnr recently released ‘Matters of the Heart’ a 12-track album which has a gospel song, ‘Worship (Medley)’, on it.
