The Majority leader, Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu, is alleged to have stated that the Minority Leader asked the presidency to intervene in the ongoing double salary investigations by the CID of the Ghana Police.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben Show, member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication team, took a swipe at the Majority Leader and Minster for Parliamentary affairs’ for what he called a liable claim peddle against the minority leader by the Suame ‘Magazine’ MP.
“It confirms the claim by NPP that people are begging the president, is a confirmation of our fear that the president has positioned himself such that he condones, connives, promote and endorses corruption and for that matter, it is a big disgrace coming from the NPP that they have given us a president who can be begged when there is an investigation going on to confirm the authenticity and the truth or otherwise of a corrupt act and they’re telling us the president listen to people who beg him, is a big shame and they should pack out and advise themselves,” he told Happy FM.
Some National Democratic Congress MPs have been criticized over allegations that they received double salaries while serving as both Members of Parliament and Ministers or Deputy Ministers.
“We are saying on all authority that nobody would beg especially when we know that at the end of this matter, it will come to bare that it is the government who need to pay others some monies, not people taking government money fraudulently.”
