Two astute Ghanaian trainers, David Duncan and Bashir Hayford are tied on points for the WORST Coach of the Year in Happy FM’s Golden Bin Awards (Bindone d’Oro) following their seemingly unimpressive outings for their respective clubs.
Both gaffers garnered 44% of the total votes cast each which made it impossible for the tie to be broken.
David Duncan started the season as the head coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko where he only managed to amass 5 point out of his first 6 games. The season before, he had taken Kotoko from a poor position on the league log midstream and placed a respectable second at the end of the season.
Loquacious Ashgold coach, Bashir was named Best Coach of the 2014/2015 Ghana Premier League but he couldn’t replicate a fraction of that title winning run and had to take a sabbatical leave to go refresh himself where a chunk of the club’s survival plot was orchestrated by deputy coach Mohammed Yakubu Mambo.
The winner of the WORST Coach of the Year between these two will be ultimately determine on Wednesday morning on Happy FM’s Anopa Bosuo Sports where fresh voting would be conducted.
Other coaches who contested for the award were Anthony Commey, Herbert Addo, Sergio Traguil, J. E Sarpong and Yusif Basigi.
