A pastor who tried to walk on water like Jesus did he drowned in front of his congregation.
Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, on the West Coast of Africa assured his congregation that he was capable of walking on water like Jesus did. He attempted to reenact what Jesus did as his congregation looked on. He set out to demonstrate that he, too, could walk on water on Gabon’s beach in Libreville. Unfortunately, it cost him his life.
Bible scholars know that in Matthew 14:22-33, Jesus walked on water and when Peter, His disciple, tried to walk on water to go to Jesus, he began to drown and Jesus saved him.
Kabele said that he received a revelation that told him with enough faith he could do what Jesus was able to do.
A report was given by an eyewitness that the pastor took his congregation out to the beach. He told them that he would cross the Kombo estuary by foot, which is normally a 20-minute boat ride. By the second step into the water, Kabele was completely submerged. Sadly, he drowned immediately before his congregation could rescue him.
