President John Dramani Mahama has cut the sod for the construction of a 10,000-seating capacity multi-purpose stadium at New Edubiase in the Adansi South District of the Ashanti Region.
It formed part of government’s radicalisation of the provision of modern sports facilities across the country. Two months ago, President Mahama inaugurated the new Cape Coast Stadium, which was initiated by President John Evans Atta Mills. The new facility is to become the home of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs in the Ghana Premier League.
When ready, the stadium will also be used by Premier League side, New Edubiase United.
The sod-cutting formed part of the President’s ‘Accounting to the People’ tour of the Ashanti Region.
