Eugene Baah of ‘Praye’ fame, known in showbiz circle as Choir Master, has called Ghanaians in the industry to help push our local music instead of the foreign ones.
Speaking on Happy FM‘s Showbiz Xtra with with Dr. Cann, he stated emphatically that, it is about time we push our own music, and stop the idea of promoting foreign songs.
“It is about time we push our own music if we want to be recognized globally on the world map. Countries like Australia are now buying into our type if music, so we need to play more of our music instead of the foreign ones”.
He also noted that when we push our music the underground artists will get the chance to be discovered.
“We are not playing even the music of our major artistes but rather the foreign ones and this is not helping our industry. But when we play our own music, the up-and-coming will also get to the limelight”, he added.
Choir Master added that the Afro beat genre is now growing and being accepted by the European market, so we have to promote it assiduously.
