Minister for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has described a statement by the Ghana Bar Association’s (GBA) as a “marked departure from their traditionally hostile stance towards NDC governments.”
In a post on Facebook, Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that neither the GBA nor other critics have demonstrated any constitutional violations by President John Dramani Mahama or the Council of State in handling the matter.
“The GBA, like others, have yet to demonstrate any constitutional infraction on the part of the President and the Council of State in the CJ matter”.
GBA in a statement earlier called for strict adherence to the rule of law and urged all stakeholders to act in accordance with Articles 146(6), (10), and 296 of the 1992 Constitution.
The Association stressed the importance of safeguarding the independence and integrity of the judiciary throughout the proceedings.
