The former Adentan parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Akosua Manu, has condemned the demolition of a newly commissioned toilet facility in Adjiringanor.
She called the act disheartening and unacceptable.
The facility, built to address urgent sanitation needs in the community, was torn down less than 24 hours after it was officially handed over to residents.
She expressed concern over the incident, emphasizing that the structure was meant to improve hygiene and public health in an area that has long faced challenges with proper sanitation.
According to her, the demolition was carried out by individuals claiming to be from the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), although the reasons for their actions remain unclear.
The demolition has sparked outrage among local residents, many of whom had welcomed the facility as a significant step forward in resolving sanitation issues.
In response, she has called for calm and assured the public that she would engage the appropriate authorities to seek redress and help prevent similar occurrences in the future.
