Dr. Bernice Makafui Brempong has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC).
Dr. Brempong, according to a statement released by GIPC is a results-driven professional, with a distinguished track record in business development, healthcare, and strategic partnerships, who holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Ghana’s School of Pharmacy, a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from University College London, and a Doctor of Pharmacy from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Although originally trained as a pharmacist, Dr. Brempong has excelled as an innovative business leader.
She founded and led several successful companies in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and commodity sectors, significantly contributing to Ghana’s socio-economic development.
Prior to her GIPC appointment, Dr. Brempong served as the Chief Executive Officer of Makhealth Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and held executive leadership roles at Synergy Commodities Ltd. and D-Amphora Ltd.
A strong advocate for the growth of Ghana’s health economy, Dr. Brempong believes that health-related investments are key drivers of sustainable economic growth.
Dr. Brempong upon her appointment has expressed her commitment to working collaboratively with stakeholders to enhance Ghana’s business environment and solidify its position as one of Africa’s leading investment destinations.
