Parliament has given its approval to the first group of ministerial nominees appointed by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, following an extensive vetting and debate process.
The approved nominees are, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson as Minister Designate for Finance, John Jinapor as Minister Designate Energy and Dr. Dominic Ayine as Attorney General and Minister for Justice Designate.
The Appointments Committee conducted the vetting on Monday, January 13, 2025, thoroughly evaluating the nominees’ credentials, expertise, and plans for their respective portfolios.
Afterward, the committee presented its findings to the House, where extensive discussions on the nominees’ competence and strategies for tackling national issues took place.
Following the debates, on Tuesday, January 21, Members of Parliament voted to approve the nominees, enabling them to officially take up their ministerial positions.
This approval represents a significant step in President Mahama’s efforts to assemble a team that is well-equipped to implement his administration’s policies, programmes and initiatives.
