Unidentified assailants have allegedly set ablaze a Kia Rhino carrying vegetables from Bawku to Kumasi at Walewale in the Mamprusi West Municipal of the North East Region.

The incident occurred today, Tuesday January 14, 2025.

The truck was transporting vegetables from Mognori in the Bawku Municipality to Kumasi.

Due to the prolonged ethnic and chieftaincy conflict in Bawku, attacks on Bolgatanga-Tamale highway have become rampant.

Meanwhile President John Dramani Mahama has visited Bawku to address the ongoing chieftaincy dispute in Bawku and it’s environs.
