Head coach of the Sudanese national team, James Kwesi Appiah has named former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan as the best player he has ever managed.
Kwesi Appiah managed Asamoah Gyan during his time in the Black Stars and made him the captain in 2013 ahead of players like Michael Essien and Sulley Ali Muntari.
Asked to choose the best amongst the group of players he managed, Kwesi Appiah mentioned Asamoah Gyan’s name without thinking twice about the question.
He also named the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi as his favorite sporting facility in the country.
Kwesi Appiah had two different stints with the Black Stars, first from 2012 to 2014 and the second from 2017 to 2020.
