The Agona West NPP Constituency Executive Committee has dismissed 280 members over what the party described as anti-party conducts.
The decision by the party’s Executive Committee in the Constituency is in accordance with article 3(9)(1) of the party’s constitution (2017).
A statement signed by the NPP Agona West Constituency Chairman, Alhaji Gibrine Tanko, indicated that the decision by the party to dismiss the 280 members was based on complainants received from some party members against the dismissed persons.
The dismissed members include those who supported an independent candidate during the 7 December election, a member who defied the party and stood as an independent Candidate and members who declared their support for other political parties.
The dismissed persons include the women’s and youth organizers, polling station chairmen among others.
The unanimous decision was made by the expanded Constituency Executive Committee consisting of Constituency officers, Municipal Chief Executive, Constituency founding members, current and former Council of Elders and patrons, Constituency Disciplinary Committee members and Electoral Area Coordinators of the party in the Agona West Constituency.
