Member of parliament for Ningo-Prampram constituency, Samuel Nartey George has shared the importance of democratic governance in light of several irregularities that have emerged from the 2024 parliamentary elections.
The NDC Member of Parliament in a recent post on his X page prior to his major remark, revealed an alleged refusal of peaceful transfer of power from the incumbent NPP government to President-Elect John Dramani Mahama come January 7, 2024.
He further pointed out an alleged alliance between the NPP caucus, the Electoral Commission of Ghana and court officials to create chaos and disrupt the peaceful transfer.
Mr. George however advised that all parties and individuals involved in the pending unrest to refrain from such and accept the choice Ghanaians have made as who they desire as leaders of the country. “Ghanaians have spoken loud and clear. The verdict is decisive. As democrats, we must accept, move on and live to fight another day as @JDMahama has done for 8 years despite several misgivings.” he stated.
Standing as an advocate of democratic governance, he intimated, “Our democracy is a prized possession we must seek to defend jealously. God bless our Homeland, Ghana.”
