Former Black Stars midfielder, Anthony Annan has revealed how he was neglected by the Ghana Football Association after sustaining an injury in camp before the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
According to Anthony Annan, he got injured in the Black Stars camp together with striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom but he was left to his fate after returning to his club Schalka O4.
He said not a single official from the Ghana Football Association called to check up on him while he was recovering from his injury which eventually affected his chances of making the trip to Brazil in 2014.
“I got injured before the 2014 World Cup together with Richmond Boakye Yiadom and I’m telling you they left me to my fate. Only the Physio called to check up on me but no other official from the GFA reached out,” Anthony Annan said.
He added that even the team doctor was made to lie on the official report after his injury because the GFA didn’t want to take responsibility.
“The Doctor knew that I picked up the injury in the Black Stars camp but he was made to write in his report that I came to the camp with the injury.”
