The Member of Parliament for the Odododiodio constituency, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye, has expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will retain the parliamentary seat, citing the trust and support the party enjoys from constituents.
Speaking to the press after casting his vote at the Rashidiya Islamic and English School No. 2 polling station in Odododiodio, Accra, he highlighted the constituency’s strong history with the NDC. He noted that, apart from a brief period when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) won the seat in 2000, the NDC has consistently held and served the constituency since 1992.
As his term comes to an end, Vanderpuye stated his belief that Alfred Nii Kotey Ashie, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, will secure victory in the ongoing elections and continue the good work started by the party.
He called on constituents to turn out in large numbers to vote for the NDC, noting that voter turnout so far appeared to be low.
