The member of parliament for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed has disclosed that Parliament spends at least One million Ghana Cedis in every emergency Parliamentary sitting.
According to him, the actions of the NPP Parliamentary caucus indicate that they want to deliberately waste the taxpayer’s money and mismanage state resources.
Speaking to the media after Speaker Bagbin adjourned parliamentary sitting, the legislature criticized the actions of the NPP Caucus for disappointing the people of Ghana by disrupting the business of Parliament.
“They should consider the financial implications of unnecessary Parliamentary sessions and prioritize responsible governance”.
“Despite the call from the NPP Parliamentary caucus for parliament to reconvene, they failed to attend the sitting, they are just wasting our time”, he added.
“Considering the moment we find ourselves in, i have to stop my campaign and other activities so that we can address pressing matters confronting the nation, why do they have to waste our time, he asked.
