Minister for Communication and Digitalization equips GMET with Vehicles, Automatic weather stations among others to improve their work

The Minister for Communication and Digitalization, Ursula Owusu- Ekuful has handed over three(3) vehicles, 105 automatic weather stations, servers and other equipment to the Ghana Metrological Agency (GMET) to support the operations of the agency.

According to her, the items would enable GMET do their forecasting automatically once they receive data from the field.

‘’It is a comprehensive end- to- end solution that has been provided to them, they are doing well with the ability to collect data quicker due to the automatic weather station they have received’’.

She believes, GMET will deliver their mandate better with the items received and urged them to utilize the available resources to produce better results, ‘’they can do even better with this additional resources’’.

Mrs. Owusu- Ekuful stated that,

“Personnel at GMET are being trained to be equipped with the expertise to deliver well,‘’ it is the human beings that are going to utilize this information and the data and analyse it for the forecast, they are also being equipped to do their work well’’.

She added that, these people are being trained on how to use analysed data.
