The Assembly Member for Antwirifo/Agyemankrom Electoral Area and Dormaa Central NDC Communication Team Member, Yaw Nsiah believes the National Democratic Congress’s proposed 24-hour economy policy will significantly boost employment opportunities and enhance Ghana’s economic growth rate. The policy aims to extend business hours beyond the traditional 9-to-5 workday, maximizing productivity and accessibility.
He highlighted that, key areas of focus will include ports and harbours, customs/immigration services, DVLA and passport offices to facilitate the creation of employment. The NDC will also support private investors in facilitating the 24-hour economy.
To achieve this, Mr. Nsiah believes the next NDC administration will provide security for private institutions that accept to operate under the 24-hour economy. Additional incentives will include subsidized electricity, tax exemptions, and reduction and cancellation of some taxes imposed by the current government to make it more attractive for business creation.
According to Mr. Nsiah, this comprehensive approach will stimulate economic growth, increase job opportunities, and improve the overall standard of living in Ghana.
