The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has secured a favorable position as 1st on the ballot paper for the upcoming December 7 presidential elections, following the Electoral Commission’s (EC) balloting event in Accra on Friday. The NPP’s Director of Elections, Evans Nimako, drew the prominent position.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), led by its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama drew the 8th spot. Other parties secured the following positions: Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP) led by Daniel Augustus Lartey will be 2nd on the ballot paper, the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), led by Akua Donkor, will be 3rd on the ballot, Christian Kwabena Andrews of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) 4th, Kofi Akpaloo of the Liberal People’s Party (LPG) 5th, Mohammed Frimpong of the National Democratic Party (NDP) 6th, the flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) 7th, and the All People’s Congress (APC) 9th.
Independent candidates were also assigned positions, with Kofi Koranteng securing the 10th spot, George Twum Barima 11th, Nana Kwame Bediako (Cheddar) of the New Force Movement 12th, and the Movement for Change, Alan Kyerematen13th.
The December 7 election promises to be a dynamic contest, with nine qualified political parties and four independent candidates vying for the presidency.
