The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Nkoranza North Constituency has responded to a viral video featuring traditional chiefs in Dromankese, who expressed discontent with former President John Mahama’s recent visit. The NDC leadership, led by Communications Officer Osei-Nyamekye Benign, in an interview with the media clarified that Mahama’s busy schedule prevented a palace visit, contrary to claims made in the video.
He explained that the NDC had informed the chief of Dromankese about Mahama’s visit and modalities, but the video misrepresented their agreement. The party emphasized Mahama’s good relationship with traditional leaders, citing his 2020 visit to the chief’s palace, where he spent 45 minutes.
The NDC urged supporters to remain calm while they engage with traditional authorities to resolve the misunderstandings. The party reaffirmed its respect for tradition and culture, condemning politically motivated actions aimed at tarnishing their relationship with traditional leaders. The NDC called for peaceful coexistence and cooperation with traditional leaders to develop Ghana.
