Running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has emphasized the crucial role traditional leaders play in Ghana’s development.
On his tour of the Ashanti Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh lauded the significant contributions of chiefs to the country’s progress, recognizing their pivotal role in driving growth and development.
He highlighted that traditional rulers hold authority over the land, which they generously release for the construction of churches, mosques, schools, and hospitals. He stressed that since “we live on these lands, it is essential to maintain communication and show respect to the landowners”.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh further acknowledged that it is by God’s will that these leaders hold their positions of authority, and without their support, many initiatives would struggle to succeed.
