Member of Parliament for Bortianor Ngleshie-Amanfro Constituency, Slyvester Matthew Tetteh, has pledged a brand new pickup to the police in his constituency to improve their work.
According to him, a major challenge in the constituency is resources to aid the police in their smooth operations.
Speaking to Bismark Brown on Happy 98.9FM’s edition of Happy on Wheels he said, “We don’t have a police station but a police post. So the police go on patrols as and when they’re in the area. We only have a container at Adansiman for police visibility and presence but it’s not a full fledged police station that works 24 hours so we have plans to establish a police station at Adansiman”.
He mentioned that during the commissioning of the police command last year, he was told about the challenge of the police not having vehicles to go round and patrol.
“I assured and told them that before September this year I’ll donate a brand new pickup to the police administration for visibility and mobilization and I haven’t forgotten about it I’m still working on it for them and before September they’ll get it so they can be patrolling the neighborhood” he mentioned.
According to him he’s aware that the police not having vehicles to patrol the area is a big challenge because the constituency is huge.
“It’s very necessary that we get one. Sometimes they use the car of the divisional commander to patrol because they don’t have the full logistics but soon they’ll get their pickup” he assured.
