Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars, have maintained their standing in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola rankings.
The four-time African champions continue to hold the 64th position globally and are ranked 12th on the continent as of July.
Following victories over Mali and the Central African Republic in June’s World Cup qualifiers, Ghana saw a temporary rise in the rankings before stabilizing in subsequent weeks.
The Black Stars were inactive throughout July, unlike their European and South American counterparts who participated in the European Championship and Copa America, respectively.
Meanwhile, Argentina retains its top spot in the rankings after clinching the Copa America title, while Spain ascends to third place globally following their success in the Euros.
In Africa, Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire, and Nigeria occupy the top five positions.
Looking ahead, Ghana will resume action in September for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. The Black Stars are scheduled to play against Angola in Kumasi before traveling to Niger for their second Group F match.
The former African champions aim to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, set to be hosted in Morocco next year.
