The majority leader in Parliament Alexander Afenyo Markin has challenged the minority NDC to declare their stand in respect of the Free SHS bill, which is to be laid before the house.
Addressing the media ,Afenyo Markin indicated that the ranking member for Education has strongly opposed the Free SHS Bill.
He stated that, it is an indication that, the NDC Minority does not want to commit themselves to the free SHS and the fact that the government wants to enact a law to make it mandatory.
According to him, the constitutional provisions that talk about free SHS are aspirational provisions and for that matter the way to go is to enact the Free SHS policy which is already operational.
He urged the minority to come out as a responsible opposition and tell Ghanaians that free SHS is not their priority.
