Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, the Minister of Finance, has emphasized the crucial role of revenue collection institutions in supporting the government in generating the necessary funds to meet the development needs of Ghanaians.
He stressed that without sufficient revenue, the government would face challenges in financing the budget, and borrowing would be the only alternative.
The Minister made this statement during a working visit to the Ghana Revenue Authority staff at Aflao, where he acknowledged the staff’s efforts in mobilizing revenue for critical government programs.
The Minister, referring to himself as the “chief motivator” of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), expressed his dedication to supporting the team every step of the way, emphasizing the importance of collective success and shared responsibility.
He pledged to implement reforms aimed at boosting staff morale, including promotions for deserving employees, renovating staff accommodations, and providing essential resources to enhance their work experience. By doing so, he aims to foster a motivated and productive team environment.
“As I approach the final months of my tenure as Finance Minister, I urge you to join me in making the remaining time count. Let’s collaborate to make my one-year stewardship a remarkable one, so we can proudly say that during my time as Finance Minister, I worked closely with GRA officials to achieve exceptional revenue collection, leaving a lasting legacy for all of us,” he stated
