Hearts of Oak: We can’t lose matches in a row; the boys are revamped - NCC Chairman Elvis Herman Hesse

Togbe Afede XIV, the Bankroller of Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, has delivered an optimistic message to the club’s supporters during the 5th Annual General Meeting held at the Civil Servant’s Auditorium in Ministries, Accra.

In the face of a challenging start to the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, Togbe Afede affirmed that the team would bounce back.

“Looking at the season we won the double with Coach Samuel Boadu, we didn’t start the season properly; it was a very poor start for the club. But we later recovered, so I’m urging all to be patient; we will recover,” Togbe Afede emphasized, addressing the concerned Hearts of Oak faithful.

The Phobians have faced a tough initiation into the new league campaign, with a disappointing record of two losses, one draw, and only one win after four games. This contrasting performance has raised questions, especially after an impressive pre-season, during which the team secured substantial victories and impressively netted over 30 goals.

The Dutch coach, who had overseen the successful pre-season preparation, has struggled to translate this triumph into league success.

As the Ghana Premier League enters its fifth week, Hearts of Oak is preparing for a crucial away fixture against Heart of Lions, where they hope to turn their fortunes around and get their campaign back on track.
